1998 - 2005 : Who is the best?

I recently found this on one of my 'I am bored so let's look at some Ville Valo pictures for the blog'-safaris through google. My mother (who pretends to not like him while she secretly thinks he's as great as everyone else does) asked me 'And? Which year are you swooning over most?'

I was like this:

and decided for 2000 because of the 'Right here in my Arms' video, which is my favorite at the moment.

Sooo, while I don't think anyone cares...which year is YOUR favorite and why?

Love,
Mila

Ps.: for those who can watch, enjoy!

Attention: I quote the truth...

 Kerrang! 2007 wrote:

There are some things in life you just have to see for yourself. Today, at the trendy Soho Hotel, slap bang in the middle of London Fashion Week, the place is swarming with blazer-sporting dandies and the dolled-up darlings of the fashion industry. It's like a scene from Zoolander, especially when Incubus's Brandon Boyd stands up in the middle of them all, not looking out of place in the slightest.

In sharp contrast, when HIM frontman Ville Valo joins us, he sticks out like a sore thump. It's partly because he looks like he just rolled out of bed but mostly because, while every pouting primadonna in the vincinity aches to achive coolness, Ville just exudes it. Lives it and breathes it without even trying.

Well, I think Kerrang! just nailded it.

And he ask's US what we find so damn sexy about him...

(I could stare at this the whole fucking day. fo realz.)

I feel like a little bit of POEtry...

Edgar Allan Poe was born on 19th January 1809 in Boston. He had a little sister, Rosalie, and an older brother, William Henry Leonard. The were separated after their father left and their mother died. He lived from there on with Frances Allen and her husband John Allan. Therefore the second name Edgar ALLAN Poe.

He attended several schools in the UK (London, Chelsea and Stoke Newing) and the University of Virginia, one of the most expensive Universitys at that time, where he studied old and new languages.

His life was dominated by poetry, sports (he was a good swimmer) and the military. He also had lots of fights with his 'father' about money, because during University he drank and gambled too much. Which makes him likable in my opinion :)

He died on 7th of October 1849 in Baltimore at the age of 41 which is kind of sad. He was alone and confused. The cause of his death is still unknown (murder, suicide, syphillis, drinking, alcoholabuse...)

Because of his problems and his aggressivness towards a lot of authors and publishers at his time he used to have a bad reputation. Thanks to Charles Baudelaire (Les Fleurs du Mal) and Stéphane Mallarmé (important french author, but not as important as Charles Baudelaire) he got famous in Europe which forced the US to appreciate his work as well.

Link to my favorite poem of E.A. Poe: The Raven (1845)

He clearly affected one of my favorite musicians, Ville Valo, and therefore I appreciate him. A lot.

Song of the Day...

Gods and Punks by Monster Magnet

I'm a stoned jet fighter with a heart of gold,
And I rule this planet from high above,
Well, I take what I take because I want what I want,
and tonight I'm gonna rock with the gods and punks

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, cut your hair!

Since I have seen Gossip Girl for the first time, I wanted to look like Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf. So my hair got longer and darker. I always tried to make the big curls like she has, but... well, I didn´t make a good job.
Beautiful Hair: Blair Waldorf/Leighton Meester
Last November I made a big step: I let my hair cut short, very very short.... I got a pixie. A roomate told me to do it, because I have the face for this style. Well, I couldn´t see that, but I refused because of three reasons. First I wanted to have may "Blair Waldorf"-Style, second I was afraid I could feel less feminine and third - shame on me, who always wants to be an independent women - most of the men prefer long hair.
I always said: "No." till I saw this picture.

I don´t know who this girl is, but I got her haircut and it was a very good decision. My face really looks different, it doesn´t take long in the morning and I feel a little bit like another person. There is just a little problem with the pixie: I´m shy and I usually don´t like people looking at me because I think they make jokes about me or something like that (Yes, I´m paranoid.) Well, that changed with the short hair and I started to feel less unwell when people pay me attention.
Now I love my new style and I laugh when my friends tell, me they would cry when somebody cut their hair that short. I say: Try it out! Don´t worry: Hair always grows, you are a woman no matter how long or short your hair is and because of the men... hey, in the end rapunzel gets her prince with short hair.

Disney´s new "Rapunzel"-story: brown and short
Some more inspiration for awesome short haircuts:

Twiggy: the best example for a pixie cut

Rock like Pink

Agyness Deyn

One of my most favourite actress: Natalie Portman

Keira Knightley, pretty every day

Bond-Girl Halle Berry

Now my hair is more like Emma Watson´s
Who´s that chick? Rihanna in red

When someone says 'Ville Valo looks like a girl'...

and if you really don't like the guy you should answer: "Oh don't be envious, just because so many girls love him doesn't mean there aren't any left for you...somewhere...probably in Thailand with a pricetag on their ass."

believe it or not: That shuts them up.

Let's hunt down a buffalo...

...because the NEW SHOE COLLECTION IS HERE!!!!!! *Happy Face*

...and while you look at them and think 'Wanna have, wanna have, wanna HAVE THEM ALL!!' you can daydream about being Cinderella and who might be your prince to put one of THESE darlings on your foot ;)

Love,
Mila

Ps.: This one's my favorite :)

I'm ill - I need a little Ville

Ville Valo - the one guy that can turn you on with one glance. I recommend he needs to wear something like this one guy from X-Men, the one that can kill with his eyes...

He's like the goddamn Mona Lisa - Ville....YOU ARE DRIVING ME INSANE!
Let me be your teddy bear...Elvis knew what he was singin' about....

Polaroids, I love I love I love them...

They're my favorite kind of photograph. I don't know why I like them so much, maybe because of the out-washed colours or the effect the white frame gives them. Luckily I found this free converter where you can make photographs from your computer look like real polaroids. (http://www.poladroid.net/)

Have fun! :)
